The Pella Matlhako Development Group (PMDG) has successfully launched the first phase of its much-anticipated Spelling Bee and Debate Competition 2025, held from 13–16 August at Sewagodimo High School and Morare High School.
The opening phase focused on basic to intermediate-level words, aimed at testing the foundational spelling abilities of participating learners while boosting their confidence on stage.
A total of 31 learners took part in this round, showcasing not only their spelling skills but also impressive vocabulary knowledge and courage in front of their peers.
Participating Schools:
- Morare High School – 25 learners
- Sewagodimo High School – 6 learners
- Reipuseng High School – 1 learner
Unlike later stages of the competition, this phase had no eliminations, allowing all learners to participate in a supportive and encouraging environment designed to sharpen their skills.
PMDG congratulates all the participants for their enthusiasm and talent, and wishes them the best of luck as they prepare for the next phase of the competition.
